MAKE A PARTY DUSTING

Make a Party Dusting?How do you do that? Well, let me explain... Now that you know what a party dusting is...let's learn how to make one...

A dusting is only text... and takes no special effort to put in a Guest Book. You would just type in the following and would look like this example...

We're partying in your guestbook, all week long! Throwing out the confetti, bringing in the cake. Passing 'round the punch, and with this party, we shall make... The biggest mess you ever have seen! Just imagine the weeks it will take you to clean! Party Hugs... DScribe
UNLESS you want to use graphics...and then you have to do a little something different.

Let's take a look at that dusting I just did in the last page...but this time... I will show it to you in HTML...

<CENTER><TABLE WIDTH="60%" BORDER="0"> <TR><TD> <CENTER><IMG SRC="http://www.thesitefights.com/inkwell/qtrain/qtrainpages/partyfood.gif" BORDER="0" ALT="Party Food For You!"> <BR><B><FONT COLOR="#000000"><FONT SIZE="+0">We're partying in your guestbook, all week long! Throwing out the confetti, bringing in the cake. Passing 'round the punch, and with this party, we shall make... The biggest mess you ever have seen! Just imagine the weeks it will take you to clean! <BR>Party Hugs... DScribe</FONT></FONT></B></CENTER> </TD></TR></TABLE></CENTER>

Now don't panic... this is really a lot easier than it looks at this point. So... I will try to make this a little easier to understand.
Make your text dusting..and where you want to put an image.. just do it this way...

<img src="http://www.address_you_uploaded_image.com/image_name.gif(or jpg)">

You will need to upload your graphics to your own homesite...wherever that might be...TSF Free space at http://www.sitefights.com/ or your own domain...wherever. Most of the other free sites don't allow you to link to them.

A lot of Quills like to leave at least one graphic that leads to their home... and this is how you do that.

<a href="http://www.page_you_are_linking_from.com">
<img src="http://www.address_image_is_uploaded.com/image_name.gif(or jpg)" border="0"></a>

Now, this address/page you uploaded the graphic is probably your homesite address..so please don't let the above confuse you..*S*

Very Important!

Please don't forget that closing tag..

<FONT face=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif color=#ff0000 size=4><a/></FONT>

.. if you don't close your tags it will continue throughout the Book and that makes for a "not so pretty" dusting. *S*
Not only will you be upset but so will the owner of the Book. So please, don't forget any closing tags...

<FONT face=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif color=#ff0000 size=4><font></font><center></center><a></a></FONT>

Another thing...don't load your dusting with graphics. It takes too long to load and you really need no more than 3 graphics per dusting and none should be bigger thank 250 x 250 ...*S*

Now I have a few Books for you to try your hand in.. for practicing... to get your dustings "just right"...*S*
Dream Books seem to give a lot of Spirits trouble... and usually they decide to just use a text dusting version only in them. I do know that you cannot write your dusting in MS Word or any of those type of programs for they put spaces where you don't see them and that causes a huge problem with Dream Books. So to eliminate that problem... I always write my dustings in Notepad and save as a text file or an HTML program. That seems to work. Give it a try and see if it helps you...*S*

After you have your dusting like you want it....save it as a text file or HTML file if you use a program... and you can minimize what ever program you use and go to all the sites and dust by copy/paste method!
Well, if it saves typing...why not??? LOL
